2008 Association Activities and Dates to Remember

2008 Regular Meeting Dates - First Tuesday Of The Odd Months

7:00 P.M. during the winter months and 8:00 P.M. during daylight savings time at the

  Clarke Electric community room, 1103 N. Main, Osceola, Iowa.

March 4, May 6, July 1, September 2,

 and Wednesday, November 5 (day changed to miss elections).

Second Sunday in January, Iowa Draft Horse and Mule Breeders Meeting.

Third Sunday in January, South Central Iowa Draft Horse and Mule Association Potluck meal.

                        March 25- 29    -Waverly Horse Sale

                        April 11-13       - Iowa Horse Fair, Des Moines

                        April 14-15       - Kalona Draft Horse Sale ,  draft horse pull Monday evening at 6:00.

                        April 25-26       - Baumli Draft Horse & Mule Sale, Maryville MO  www.maryvillehorsesale.com

                        June 8               - Iowa Draft Horse and Mule Breeders Meeting (contact Doyle Nicholas for info)

                        July 4                - Fourth of July Parades in Osceola, Milo and Carlisle.

                        July 12              - New Virginia Old Settlers Parade at 6:00

                        July ?                - oat binding & threshing (to be announced)

                        July 27              - Warren County Draft Horse Show, contact Gerald Stuart 641-449-3705   

                        Aug 9?              - Iowa State Fair draft horse pull.  6:30 in the pavilion.

                        Aug 10-12        - Belgian Show at Iowa State Fair

                        Aug 14-16        - Percheron\Clyde\Shire Show at Iowa State Fair

                        Aug 17              -Farm hitch classes at Iowa State Fair

                        Aug 23             - Woodburn Homecoming Parade (4th Saturday in August)

                        Aug. 29-31       - Britt Draft horse show

                        Aug 31& Sept 1- National Plowing Contest. Dayton, Ohio

                        Sept 1?             - Horse Pull at Mt Pleasant Old Threshers reunion.

                        Sept 6              - South Central IA. Draft Horse & Mule show at New Virginia at Noon. (clinic from 9:00 to 11:30)

                        Sept 7-14        - North American Belgian Championship, Indianapolis, Indiana

                        Sept. 20           - Log Cabin Days parade, Indianola

                        Oct 4               - Wagon Train and trail ride at Stephen’s Forest (rain date on Oct. 11)

                        Oct 7-11         - Waverly Horse Sale

                        Oct 20- 21       - Kalona fall sale

                        Oct ?               - Old Iron Club plow day (to be announced)

-          The Ox-Bow club has several trail rides\ wagon trains throughout the year.
